We’re back (bo0 hoo) from yet another fantastic week at AlgomaTrad Camp on St. Joseph Island in northern Ontario, where we were causing trouble as volunteer staff with Julie Schryer, Pat O’Gorman (and the complete O’Shraves), Pierre Schryer, James Stevens, Sheeshum & Lotus, Mark Roberts and Andrea Cooper, Andy Hillhouse, Joe Philips and many more of the usual (or should I say unusual?) suspects. Although we started out with a VERY wet first night, the weather turned beautiful with sunny days and crispy-cold nights. We never went to bed and never stopped playing (or eating the delicious local produce and home-cooked meals) or having fun with about 130 amazing musicians and their families. We always have the hardest time saying goodbye… as illustrated here. This year, Nicolas Babineau joined us (http://nicolasbabineau.com) and we had many adventures en route (we were at the Great Lakes Folk Fest just prior). Visit http://algomatrad.ca to learn more and see just how much fun it is to learn and teach trad music with your family!
