No 75 – La Soupe de Véronique / Air de Saint-Basile – Doyun Park

Avec Doyun Park. Yvon Mimeault a entendu sa propre mère chanter les paroles «Véronique, va voir à ta soupe» sur cet air de quadrille. La cuisinière avait-elle oublié sa soupe pour aller danser? La deuxième pièce est un air du violoneux André Alain. Originaire du compté de Portneuf, il excellait à «revirer» l’irlandais en québécois en inspirant une continuité dans la tradition auprès ses amis ou de ses adeptes dont Jean Cantin, Pierre Laporte, André Marchand, Lisa Ornstein, Guy Bouchard et plus. 🎻 With Doyun Park. The second piece is an air by Québec fiddler André Alain. Originally from the Portneuf area, he excelled in “québécoising” Irish-rooted tunes and inspired the continuity of traditional music via his friends and followers, among them Jean Cantin, Pierre Laporte, André Marchand, Lisa Ornstein, Guy Bouchard and more.
