No 107 – Galope de Ste-Blandine – avec Michel Roy

Avec Michel Roy et Dana Whittle. Ste-Blandine, dans l’arrière-pays de Rimouski, est le village natal du violoneux Isidore Soucy. Il a eu un carrière bien remplie autant sur scène, qu’à la radio, à la télévision et sur disque. Prolifique musicien et compositeur qui, avec sa famille, a fortement contribué à créer le son d’orchestre québécois traditionnel des années 50-60. Il nous a laissé plusieurs pièces dont dont cette galope, probablement de son cru.

Ste-Blandine, on the outskirts of Rimouski, Québec, is the birthplace of fiddler Isidore Soucy, who had a busy career on stage, on the radio, on television and on recordings. He was a prolific musician and composer who, along with his family, made a huge contribution to the Québécois traditional sound of the ‘50s and ‘60s. He left us several pieces including this “galope”, probably his own composition.
