Avec Joseph Roy, Suzie Blanchette et Jean Cantin. Tourné à Saint-Félix-de-Valois en septembre 2025 à la ferme Coop Au Bout du Rang pour la journée portes ouvertes de la UPA « Mangeons Local ». Chanson tirée du répertoire de Samuel et Simon Riopel de Entrelacs, chantée ici avec enthousiasme par Joseph Roy. Originaire de Saint-Jean-de-Matha, il est le petit neveu du folkloriste québécois Raoul Roy. Il s’est initié à l’accordéon auprès de Normand Miron de Sainte-Béatrix. Hors de la musique, au printemps et à l’automne, il exerce un métier particulier comme plongeur sous-marin et pêcheur d’oursin dans l’estuaire de Saint-Laurent. Il affectionne la tradition chantée qu’il accompagne souvent avec les boutons et le soufflet de son accordéon. Veuillez excuser les petites rafales de vent occasionnelles en cette journée automnale!

Originally from Saint-Jean-de-Matha, he is the great-nephew of Québec folklorist Raoul Roy. He began learning accordion with Normand Miron of Sainte-Béatrix. Outside of his music, in the Spring and Fall, he has an unusual profession as a diver for sea urchins in the St. Lawrence estuary. He is fond of traditional singing, which he often accompanies with the buttons and bellows of his accordion. Please excuse the occasional gust of wind on this fall day!
