No 211 – Le clôt de perche – La gang du Bout du Rang
Avec la « gang » du Bout du Rang (Suzie Blanchette, Lucille Behan, Jean Cantin, Louis Charbonneau, Dana Whittle). Tourné au Coop Bout du Rang à Saint-Félix-de-Valois en septembre 2025 durant la journée portes ouvertes de la UPA « Mangeons Local ». Cette pièce est une petite composition de Claude. Je ne sais trop quelle rythmique lui donner–ternaire ou binaire–les deux peuvent marcher pour faire le tour du clôt. C’est un air composé à partir d’une nostalgie du décor de campagne où on pouvait voir encore partout des vielles granges « en bois de grange », toujours debout et pleines de foin pour passer l’hiver. On pouvait voir également ici et là des clôt de perche, tout cela avant l’arrivée de la clôture électrique. Merci aux ami-e-s trad!

Filmed at the Coop Bout du Rang in Saint-Félix-de-Valois in September 2025 during the UPA’s « Mangeons Local » open house. A little composition by Claude. I’m not quite sure what rhythm to give it—ternary or binary—but both work to take a stroll along the split-rail fence! A tune composed out of nostalgia for the countryside where you could still see old barns, made of « barn wood » everywhere, still standing and full of the winter’s hay. You could also still see fences here and there, all this before the arrival of the electric fence. Big thanks to our trad friends!
