J’ai entendue cette chanson maintes fois… elle flottait dans l’air de Lanaudière et de toutes ses assemblées festives quand on s’y promenait dès 1976. Comment a-t-elle bien pu se casser la jambe avec un bouquet de roses blanches? Comme je ne me souvenais plus de « la vraie version » a bien fallu m’en faire une qui finit bien même dans l’amour avant mariage. C’est toujours un grand plaisir de chanter avec notre bon ami Robert Bouthillier, l’homme aux mille chansons!

I’ve heard this song countless times… it was in the air at gatherings in the Lanaudière region beginning in 1976. The song claims that the young woman in question has her leg broken (somewhat unbelievably) by a bouquet of white roses. Since I couldn’t recall all the lyrics of the « true » version, I took the liberty of making one up, replete with a happy ending (including premarital sex). It’s always a great pleasure to sing with our good friend Robert Bouthillier, man of a thousand songs!
