No 250 – La berçante – Louis-Philippe Pharand
Avec Louis-Philippe Pharand (Dana Whittle à la guitare arrière de la caméra). Tourné à Sainte-Béatrix en janvier 2026. Cet air nous ramène au début des années 1980 lorsque mon groupe Le Rêve du Diable. Grâce au réalisateur montréalais Normand Roger, nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer le célèbre artiste Frédéric Back et de participer à la trame sonore de son film d’animation Crac (gagnant d’un Oscar à Hollywood) qui inclut un extrait fredonné de cette composition. J’ai une faiblesse pour les valses, qui peuvent souvent être rapides pour tourner en couple, mais quelque fois très lente pour se bercer seul avec ses pensées dans la chaise de l’histoire du Québec. Merci à Louis-Philippe pour son interprétation toujours parfaite.
With Louis-Philippe Pharand (Dana Whittle on guitar, behind the camera). Filmed in Sainte-Béatrix in January 2026. This lyric tune takes us back to the early 1980s, when my band, Le Rêve du Diable. Thanks to Montréal producer Normand Roger we had the opportunity to enter the artistic world of Frédéric Back and contribute to the soundtrack of his animated film Crac (winner of an Oscar), which included a hummed excerpt from this composition. I love waltzes, which can be fast-paced for dancing, or at times very slow—perfect for quietly contemplating the past in a comfortable rocking chair. Thanks to Louis-Philippe for his always-perfect interpretation.
