With Jean Cantin, Arthur Coates, and Logan Myers. Filmed in Sainte-Béatrix in July 2023 . Please excuse some of the funky footage – it happens. « L’oiseau dans la cage » (The Bird in the Cage) is a dance figure — and the title of a lively tune played by a beloved mentor, fiddler André Alain. Mr. Alain was from the Portneuf region and his captivating style became very popular during the trad music revival of the 1970s and 80s. Our talented young friend Arthur Coates, visiting from Scotland, clearly already has the Québécois feet required! The other young musician is an aspiring percussionist who has appeared recently on the Bout du banc. A huge thank you to everyone, including our own Jean Cantin on guitar!
